Avant-garde fashion
Since graduating from Shankar and presenting My final project , my challenge was and is to translate creative and innovative ideas into functional and flattering clothes. When I design useful and wearable items on a daily basis, there are always limitations that cannot allow to express the craziest ideas. That's why, when the opportunity fell to me again to be Liat "the student" - I was very happy; Both thanks to the freedom to design without thinking about the final price or the complexity of the execution and also due to the special opportunity to produce a garment that is closer to the world of art. Just such an opportunity was given to me at the alternative fashion show At the City Hall last week: it was an avant-garde show where all the designers were given complete artistic freedom.

Last Thursday I had the privilege of taking part in a larger-than-life fashion exhibition at Beit Ha'ir in Tel Aviv.
Nona Chalant , who hosted and produced the event, chose to wear the model in my design. It was a pink-red dress with hundreds of ever-growing slits. The cut I created was a kind of blow-up of a huge paper cut-out worn on the body, and a special red evening bag that I designed with the same inspiration was attached to it. Shushka's figure, the artist Zev Engelmeier who wears nude, was the starting point for the inspiration of this fashion show, in which 15 Israeli artists and designers participated.

"For those who haven't come across Shushaka, the invented character of the woman dressed in pink fur with a blonde wig who has been walking around Tel Aviv for the past few months and has since conquered the world - so he should really get to know her. Behind the fictional character is Zeev Engelmeir, who transferred her from the world of comics to a real character , when he opened his exhibition "The Elaborate Land" at the City Hall in Tel Aviv. Since then he has been living the character, walking around the country with her, and even traveled overseas to introduce her to more audiences in the world." It was a unique opportunity for me to produce an avant-garde model without dwelling too much on the question of wearable/unwearable? But simply to produce something from the stomach and the heart and also enjoy the journey.
