A new fashion show

(or 'Sushka and I')

A unique opportunity came my way: to create without limitations, to do something from the heart without thinking too much about cost and pricing considerations.
A few months ago the phone rang and on the other end was a dear friend who is also an artist I love very much.
It was Nona Shallant and she had very happy news.

"It has to be avant-garde, larger than life," Nona told me in that emotional phone call about a month ago. She talked to me about the amazing opportunity that fell into her lot, about her blessed initiative to set up a fashion show and a fashion exhibition under the auspices of the Tel Aviv Municipality right here, next to us, at Beit Ha'ir in Tel Aviv.

At first it was a little scary. But after the initial paralysis and overcoming the fear, I sat down to think about what I really feel like creating the most, like that - from the heart. Then the hand started to scribble and I was once again gripped by the same huge feeling of excitement that I had already felt before when I was working on the final project , and also when I created my very first collection . Such a feeling of real freedom to let my biggest ideas come out.

I thought of producing a kind of BLOW-UP (enlargement on a huge scale) of the technique I work with in my design line. I wanted to work with new materials and new sizes and that's exactly what I did.

After I painted I moved on to modeling in a big way. As always, I like to work with paper first. The initial work with paper helps me in building a larger, avant-garde and more special silhouette, and also allows me to experiment with a cheaper material in the first stage - which frees up creativity more and, just as importantly, is more economical and less polluting.

Then I moved on to working with fabric, and producing the initial cut with the computerized laser cutting.

You will see the final result very soon - in about two weeks. On December 22, 2016, an alternative and unique fashion show named "Shosh Couture" will be held at the City Hall in Tel Aviv, inspired by the exhibition "The Land of the Eminent" by the artist and creator Ze'ev Engelmeier , also known as "Shosha" and managed and cast by Nona Chalant. 15 Israeli designers among them I will also present 15 different looks of avant-garde fashion in a special event of its kind. The unique models will be displayed in the city hall until the end of the exhibition.

Until then? We will wait patiently :-) and in the meantime a small and special glimpse of what is going to be there:
